Free college prep workshops begin today

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Get smart about getting ready for college. Starting today, the Teton County Library is offering free educational workshops to prepare for higher education with the library’s College Prep Coordinator Nick Grenoble. The library and Teton County School District also collaborate on events for students in all stages of the college application process. February workshops will highlight how to find a great college match, as well as preparing students for the ACT test. *TUESDAYS, FEB 9 – MAR 1* - 6-7:30 p.m. - Weekly Series: Scholarship Application Help Nights - Computer Lab - Get personalized help with your scholarship essays and applications. From no draft to first draft - wherever you are in the process, we can help you polish your essay. We'll also help you navigate how to find scholarships. *THURS, FEB 4 – THURS, APRIL, 14* - 6-7:30 p.m. - Weekly Series: ACT Prep Course - Youth Auditorium - Want to do your best on the ACT? Higher scores open doors to more college and scholarship options, so join this course and learn techniques to master the exam. This is an ongoing course that builds on each session. *WED, FEB 10* - 6-7 p.m. - College Information Night - JH High School Media Center - Learn about the college application process and timeline, as well as what you can do to make your application more attractive to admissions officers. Hosted by Jackson Hole High School. *WED, FEB 17* - 6-7:30 p.m. - College Match Workshop - Youth Auditorium - Identify and examine your priorities to build a list of potential colleges that fit your needs. We also discuss how to search for schools that are generous with financial aid. *SAT, FEB 27* - 1-5 p.m. - Practice ACT Exam - Youth Auditorium - Take a free practice exam under simulated test conditions at the Teton County Library. Participants will receive a detailed score report. Recommended for juniors and open to all students. See workshops through May at www.tclib.org/collegeprep.
