Nearly 300 pounds of weed confiscated from coast-to-coast driver

Wyoming Highway Patrol Troopers interdicted approximately 292 lbs. of marijuana during a traffic stop on Saturday (Feb. 13th) west of Laramie, Wyoming. A resident of California and a resident of New York have been arrested and are now facing felony charges. A WHP Trooper stopped a U-Haul rental truck for speeding at 4:00 p.m. on the 13th near mile post 292 on Interstate 80 eastbound approximately 18 miles west of Laramie. Confusing and conflicting stories, along with an admission to marijuana in the truck, led to a WHP K-9 alerting to the presence of a controlled substance in a couch in the back of the moving truck. Troopers discovered the large amount of marijuana in multiple items of furniture in the U-Haul. With the assistance of the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, Troopers have arrested 41-year-old Brooklyn resident Jia Jun Yu and 48-year-old San Francisco resident Kwok Lun Chow. Both men have been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and felony conspiracy to deliver. The marijuana is believed to have originated out of the Seattle, Washington area and was destined for New Jersey. The seized marijuana has an estimated street value of $1,068,000. *h/t WHP* #buckrail #reboot #county10 #oilcity #springcity #dally #county17 #shortgo #news
