Saturday Events: Halfpipe Competition, Mary Poppins, 49'er Ball, Live Music and More

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Here's what's happening around the county today: *USASA Slopestyle and Halfpipe Comp:* Today starting at 10 a.m., Jackson Hole welcomes the Big Mountain West division of USASA for a ski and snowboard slopestyle and halfpipe comp at JHMR. *Teton Valley Winter Farmer's Market: *From 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the heated greenhouse from 10-2 every Saturday from January 2nd through March 12th. Check out the local offerings of honey, linens, artwork, ceramics, baked goods, prepared foods, eggs, preserves, meat, jewelry and more. *Open House at Historic Miller Ranch:* The historic Miller House on the National Elk Refuge will be open to the public for a unique winter visit on Saturday, February 27 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Miller House is open seasonally from late May to mid-September. Visitors to the Miller House during the winter Open House will be able to enjoy the home as hundreds of elk winter nearby. Naturalists will be on hand to greet visitors and discuss Refuge history. *Ranger-Led Snowshoe Hike:* Today starting at 1:30 p.m., join a ranger for an educational and fun hike through the snow. Rangers offer guided snowshoe hikes from the Taggart Lake Trailhead. Programs begin on December 26 and run through mid-March, 2015, conditions permitting. Reservations are required, call 307-739-3399 for more details and to make reservations. Please wear appropriate winter clothing (e.g. hat, gloves, snow/wind pants, boots, etc.) and don't forget your sunscreen and sunglasses. Snowshoes are available from the Grand Teton Association for a suggested donation of $5. Hikes last two hours, ending at 3:30 p.m. *Chanman Solo at the K Bar: *On Saturday from 4 - 6 p.m., Chanman will play apres' ski at the K Bar in Teton Mountain Lodge. Songs from Chanman's new CD "Chanman solo," ski bum originals and standards. The live music is free and open to all. *Mary Poppins:* At 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Center Stage at the Center for the Arts is the Mary Poppins musical performance. Tickets are $12 - $22 each. *49'er Ball:* The old west tradition is back! The Jackson Hole Lions Club 49'er Ball will be held on Saturday, February 27 at 7:00pm at the Virginian. The event will include music by Bootleg Flyer featuring The Miller Sisters, silent auction, costume contest (costumes encouraged, not necessary!), gambling, and dance lessons with Dancers' Workshop. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. The number of tickets each Queen candidate sells is a "vote" for her to win the crown. *Tribes by Nina Raine:* On Saturday at 7 p.m. at Dancers' Workshop Studio 1, Riot Act, Inc. Presents Tribes by Nina Raine.
