More details released on the new affordable rentals proposed in Jackson

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Last week, The Jackson Hole Community Housing Trust held a public meeting where more than 60 people gathered to hear about the new affordable rental development. The organization is planning to build 29 affordable rental homes on Redmond and Hall in Jackson. They are building 2 bedroom / 1.5 bathroom homes and 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom homes. The 2 bedroom units are about 1,100 square feet plus a sizable basement and the 1 bedroom units range in size from 500 to 750 square feet plus basements/storage. "The rents we are projecting are for a 2017 move-in and are about $1,575 for a 2 bedroom and $950-$1,375 for a 1 bedroom (depending on the size of the unit)," said Carrie Kruse, Jackson Hole Community Housing Trust operations manager in an email. Currently, Jackson Hole Community Housing Trust is calling the project "Redmond Hall," but are looking for better names for the development. They are hosting a contest to name the new rentals on their Facebook page . The organization hopes to break ground on the project at the end of this summer depending on funding and approval.
