(Jackson, Wyo.) - Last weekend, the Jackson Hole High School alpine skiing team competed at Snow King Mountain for the Wyoming Alpine Championships. "The skiers all skied very well," said Coach Cody Hansen. "We had 6 girls in the top 9 on Friday and 6 in the top 10 on Saturday." The JHHS girls team won state with a total of 156 points and the boys also won state with a total of 131 points. Abby Walker took first in Friday's race, followed by Mary Margaret Grassell and Alise Olson. Ashley Orsillo took 5th, with Anna Barker coming in 7th and Sydney McGlashon in 9th. On Saturday, Mary Margaret Grassell took first, with Abby Walker, Alise Olson and Anna Barker coming in 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Ashley Orsillo took 6th on Saturday. "Congratulations to Mary Margaret Grassell for being the Wyoming State Giant Slalom Champion and Abby Walker for being the Wyoming State Slalom Champion and #1 in the state for all-season points," said Coach Hansen. For the boys team on Friday, Garrison Fadala took second place after Natrona County High School's Cody Wilkinson. Trystan Smith and Ben Klausmann placed 3rd and 4th, respectively, and Cole Pampe and Will Colgin placed 8th and 9th. On Saturday, the JHHS boys had four top ten finishers with Ben Klausmann taking 3rd, Garrison Fadala in 4th, Trystan Smith in 5th, and Chase Bancroft in 8th. "We fit 6 girls in the All-State honors, with four of them in the 1st Team All-State," said Coach Hansen. "For boys we had five skiers in the All-State honors with three of them fitting into the 1st team All-State." "This team performed and worked together as a team with great character.
