(Jackson, Wyo.) - At the Town Council meeting this evening, officials will review and possibly approve amendments to the Nelson Engineering and Landslide Technology contracts to complete final design for the landslide fix. Preliminary design and phase 1 construction has been completed, which included temporary winter drainage and road widening from one lane to two lanes. The next step, according to Town documents, is to complete final design construction documents to get the Town ready for project bidding. "Our current conceptual plan includes unloading the top, shear-key, buttress and reinforced soil slopes systems designed to achieve a minimum factor of safety of 1.1 to 1.2, which serves to meet the Town Council’s objectives: a) Protect Public Safety, b) Protect public infrastructure and Town owned assets, c) Develop a concept to mitigate the slide and d) Fund the portion of slide mitigation that repairs and protects our public infrastructure," states Town documents. Tonight, officials will decide whether to award both amendments to contracts for Nelson Engineering in the amount of $205,307.00 and Landslide Technology in the amount of $149,044.00 for the West Broadway Landslide remediation.
