Library to host summer and fall candidate forums

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Local League of Women Voters members, the Teton County Library and media representatives have set a schedule for primary and general election candidates’ forums. The League has been instrumental in hosting the forums in recent years, partnering with the library and others to bring hundreds of community members together with the candidates. The non-partisan group has hosted media panels that have posed their own and others’ questions to candidates. It anticipates new formats in 2016. This year, the League has scheduled forums for Aug. 3, 4 and 10 just before the Aug. 16 primary. They will be held at the library. General election forums will be held Oct. 19, 20, 26 and 27, just before the Nov. 8 general election, also at the library. “We hope organizations and voters will quickly enter these dates on their calendars,” said Karen Jerger, participant in the organizing group. “We believe the forums give voters the opportunity to better understand the candidates and their positions as well as learn about other issues that may be decided at the polls.” *Feature Photo: h/t Teton County Library / Pitchengine Communities* #buckrail #news
