Community leaders to host conversation on gun safety today

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Today, St. John’s Church will host a conversation on gun safety with several members of the community. Conversations for Common Ground discusses gun safety with Senator Bernadine Craft, who currently sits on the Travel, Recreation, and Wildlife Committee and the Labor, Health, and Social Services Committee, avid hunter and hunter educator Jeff Daugherty, Teton County Prevention Management Organization of Wyoming's Matt Stech, and Head of the Jackson Hole Community School Amy Fulwyler. The conversation will center around the best ways to reduce firearm deaths and injuries, focusing the issue on safety, rather than on “gun control.” One of the main goals of Conversations for Common Ground is to provide an opportunity to learn different points of view and find the common theme. This series of conversations will be learning opportunities, chances to talk skillfully and respectfully about charged issues with people who might have differing perspectives, with less apprehension. The session begins at 11:30 a.m. in the parish hall of St. John’s Church and will conclude by 1:00 p.m. Lunch is $5.00 or bring your own.
