Grand Teton Music Festival StringFest Showcase:* Today at 4:30 p.m. at The Center for the Arts is the free StringFest Showcase with Barbara Scowcroft and Local Orchestra Students. Throughout GTMF Presents Winter Music, visiting artists appear in Jackson-area schools, engaging and inspiring future generations of musicians and music-lovers. The week’s educational activities conclude with Festival Musician and Music Director of the Utah Youth Symphony, Barbara Scowcroft, leading 8th grade orchestra students in a concert to showcase the students’ newly refined skills and talents. Counterpoint Reading & Panel Explore the Changing Color of American Literature:* On Friday, March 18 from 6 - 7:30 p.m., the authors delve into controversies in American literature in the discussion, "Trippin' Over the Racial Divide: Contemporary Controversies in American Literature," followed by a half-hour audience Q&A. More information on this event is available at *3. Dancers' Workshop Spring Show:* Tonight, the Junior Repertory Company (JRC) at Dances' Workshop will host a free Spring Showing. Rendezvous Festival:* Free Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats show tonight in Town Square, free (but ticketed) Zac Brown Band concert tomorrow night in Teton Village, and free Uncle Kracker show on Sunday. See the full schedule here. *5. Snow King Pond Skim:* This event is scheduled for Sunday March 20. This year, they will kick off this annual rite of spring with the Special Olympics Jackalope Jump. According to Snow King Mountain, the Snow King Pond Skim is – like many end of season events at ski resorts – a bit rowdy.
