START breaks record, transports almost 11,000 people Saturday

(Jackson, Wyo.) - If you took the bus to the Zac Brown Band concert on Saturday, this may not surprise you - START broke a record this Saturday. "I have never seen a night like we had on Saturday night with our busses," said Town Manager Bob McLaurin during Monday night's Town Council meeting. During the meeting, Transit Director Darren Brugmann recapped the busy weekend. The previous record of the most people transported in one day by the START Busses was 5,500 in late January 2014. On Saturday, March 19, START Buses transported 11,000 people, doubling the previous record. This doesn't include the number of people who were transported by the 10 Salt Lake City Express busses that came to help for the event. "I want to recognize each of the drivers that drove that night and did an exceptional job," said Brugmann. Burgmann named the drivers who worked long shifts Saturday and dealt with the massive and rowdy crowds. "We utilized every bus we could, the best we could," said Brugmann. "We were able to get everyone out to the concert on time and back after the concert. It was an epic night." #buckrail #news
