Commissioner Macker announces campaign to run again

(Teton County, Wyo.) - Today, Natalia D. Macker announced the launch of her campaign for the Teton County Board of County Commissioners. Macher, 31, has served on the Board of County Commissioners since August 2015 when she was unanimously appointed by the sitting Commissioners to fill an unplanned vacancy, "I am honored to serve the people of Teton County. It is rewarding to represent such engaged constituents who care deeply about this special place. Teton County is poised to be a model for the rest of our state and the country as we strike a balance between responsible resource management, creative solutions for housing and transportation, and responsible representation for our citizens. The people of Teton County deserve pragmatic elected officials who are willing to take action to maintain our vibrant diversity and quality of life. But we also need to ensure we are a whole community, which means working to maintain opportunity for everyone," said Macker. In 2014, Macker garnered national press attention and won the majority of votes from Teton County during her bid for the Wyoming State Legislature for House District 22. Shortly thereafter, Governor Matt Mead appointed Macker to a five-year term on the Land Quality Advisory Board for the Department of Environmental Quality. Previously, she was appointed twice to the Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreations Advisory Board and served on the steering committee for Leadership Jackson Hole. Macker is the Artistic Director of Off Square Theatre, the resident theatre company at the Center for the Arts and the founder of Thin Air Shakespeare, which brings free, professional outdoor Shakespeare to the Tetons every summer. She is also a member of the Rotary lunch club, and serves on the Run Committee for Old Bill's Fun Run and Charities. *Feature Photo: Natalia D. Macker. h/t Natalia D.
