2 men arrested in Jackson get jail time for illegal re-entry

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Two men arrested for illegal re-entry of a previously deported undocumented immigrant were sentenced in Federal District Court on April 11 and April 12. Jose Sosa-Rodriguez, aka Mauricio Garcia-Ramos, 30, of Mexico, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on April 11, 2016, for illegal re-entry of a previously deported undocumented immigrant into the United States. Sosa-Rodriguez was arrested in Jackson, Wyoming. He received time served, plus 10 days, was ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment, and is subject to deportation upon release from custody. This case was investigated by the United States Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Jose Mejia-Becerril, aka Jose Mejia, aka Jose Mejia Becerrill, aka Jose Meja, 30, of Mexico, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on April 12, 2016, for illegal re-entry of a previously deported undocumented immigrant into the United States and for being a felon and illegal alien in possession of a firearm. Mejia-Becerril was arrested in Jackson, Wyoming. He received 30 months imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release, was ordered to pay a $200.00 special assessment, and is subject to deportation upon release from custody.
