Local choral group brings Carnegie Hall to Jackson

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Sunday, local music group Cathedral Voices invites the community to its final performance of the year - a special concert featuring the works of Dan Forrest. In January, the group performed this piece at Carnegie Hall in New York City , alongside 183 singers from across the United States and Canada. “The choir will be taking our audience on an exceptional musical journey, from the glorious and inspirational Te Deum, through the whimsical sounds of Windsong, and a striking piece scored for choir and percussion ensemble,” said Artistic Director Laura Huckin. “We are proud to share this music from Dan Forrest, some of which was performed during our 4-day residency in New York City where we performed in Carnegie Hall.” Local chamber musicians and percussionists will take the stage with Cathedral Voices, showcasing the unique sounds of instruments such as the vibraphone, celeste, and harp. The event takes place On Sunday, April 17 at 4:00 p.m. in the Center Theater. Audiences are invited to join Cathedral Voices in the theater lobby following the performance, to celebrate the end of the choir’s 2015-16 season. A $10 donation is suggested; however, the event is free and non-ticketed. *Feature Photo: h/t Cathedral Voices Chamber Choir / Pitchengine Communities * #buckrail #news #whatshappening
