Breaking: Gov't Mule to headline Fireman's Ball

Rock torchbearers Gov’t Mule will headline the 76th annual Fireman’s Ball this year on September 4th. The lineup will include country rock group Blackberry Smoke and a third act to be announced in June. The Fireman’s Ball will be a stop on the duo’s Smokin’ Mule nationwide tour. The firefighters are taking on Labor Day weekend this year, with a Sunday Ball. “We had a unique opportunity to book a band that we’ve been after for years and so we’re changing up our date,” says James Powell, Event Director and local Fire Captain. “The Fireman’s Ball has always represented a cross-section of our community and we hope that this September 4th Ball will bring together our loyal locals as well as folks visiting Jackson.” The evening will feature all of the usual accoutrements, including a silent auction, gun raffle and grand prize drawing. There will be a cocktail bar and ice cold beer served by Jackson’s bravest. Vendors on site will serve dinner until the late hours. A limited amount of pre-sale tickets will go on sale April 27th. Regular ticket sales will begin on May 18th online at jhfire.org. Doors open at 6:00, with music starting at 7:30. Folks wanting to participate in the auctions should plan to arrive early. #buckrail #news
