Preschoolers get special art opening tonight at Cowboy Coffee

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Tonight from 5:30-6:30 p.m., Cowboy Coffee Co. will host an opening for “A Collaboration of Colors” created by Teton Literacy Center’s Literacy Lab preschool students. Please join Teton Literacy Center (TLC) families, Board of Directors, and staff in celebrating the achievements and creativity of our young learners. The exhibit will be on display through Monday, May 2nd. Teton Literacy Center has teamed up with the Children’s Museum and the National Museum of Wildlife Art, for an outreach project titled “A Collaboration of Colors.” This collaboration was made possible by Center of Wonder and their mission to foster a collaborative and creative community. During this project, students explored colors through science, art and literacy. Students participated in science exploration the Jackson Hole Children’s Museum, learning about primary colors and secondary colors. The National Museum of Wildlife Art helped students connect colors and expression in paintings. Finally, students were able to create a book using colors to express their feelings. The Literacy Lab is a free preschool part of the Family Literacy Program at Teton Literacy Center. Literacy Lab students are 4 and 5 year olds who did not have access to preschool programs. In an effort to provide school readiness to all communities and families in Teton County, Teton Literacy Center created this program four years ago. Families are active participants in their child’s education and are involved in parent education classes, home visits, and English or GED classes. *Feature Photo: h/t Teton Literacy Center / Pitchengine Communities* #buckrail #news
