Man arrested for overnight commercial burglary

(Jackson, Wyo.) - A Jackson man was arrested yesterday for an alleged commercial burglary. At 9:21 a.m. on Wednesday, the Jackson Police Department responded to a report of a burglary at a local business on the 300 Block of N Glenwood Street in Jackson. According to Lieutenant Cole Nethercott of the Jackson Police Department, an investigation revealed that a small locked file cabinet that contained approximately $25.00 and numerous business receipts had been stolen from the business overnight. Officers collected evidence at the scene and reviewed surveillance video. "Based on information gained during the investigation officers identified a potential suspect," said Lieutenant Nethercott. "Later in the day, officers located the suspect at his residence. Prior to contacting him they noticed a sweatshirt with a distinctive logo inside his vehicle that matched a sweatshirt worn by the suspect in video of the burglary." Jackson Police officers made contact with the suspect, who allegedly admitted the conducting the burglary. Officers recovered the stolen file cabinet and other items of evidence in a dumpster outside the suspect’s residence.
