Kidnapping suspect's mother also arrested in Sublette County

(Pinedale, Wyo.) - On Saturday, May 14, an arrest warrant was served on Maryann Dalrymple Harrison, 45, of Bountiful, UT, after she broke the conditions of her probation for leaving the state of Utah. Maryann, mother of the kidnapping and assault fugitive, Dereck James “DJ” Harrison, 22, had arrived in Pinedale hoping to assist her son while the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office led a multi-agency search in and around the Half Moon Lake campground, just north of of Pinedale. Dereck’s father, Flint Wayne Harrison, 51, had turned himself in to the Sublette County Detention Center in the early morning hours on May 14. He then provided a description of the approximate location where he and his son had spent the night after fleeing Centerville, UT. The two were wanted by police for their participation in the kidnapping and assault of a mother and her four daughters on Wednesday, May 11. The search, which involved multiple agencies from both Wyoming and Utah, yielded a makeshift campsite later that afternoon that contained a number of items reported to have been in Dereck’s possession. The search was suspended for the night around 8:00 p.m., and set to begin again early Sunday morning when about two hours later, Dereck was seen walking down the closed forest service road by a US Forest Service officer. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Sublette County Detention Center. Earlier in the day, Maryann had arrived at the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office seeking information about her son. When it was discovered that she did not have permission to leave the state of Utah, a warrant was issued for her arrest and she was booked into jail. She is being held without bond. *Feature Photo: (L to R) Maryann Delrymple Harrison, 45, Flint James Harrison, 51, and Dereck James “DJ” Harrison, 22. h/t Sublette County Sheriff's Office / Pitchengine Communities* #buckrail #news
