Robin Miller named TCSD Teacher of the Year

(Jackson, Wyo.) - During the regular meeting of the TCSD Board of Trustees on Wednesday evening, elementary school teacher Robin Miller was named TCSD Teacher of the Year. Nominated by her peers, a committee of administrators, instructional coaches, and a board member selected Miller to represent the TCSD teaching staff in the Wyoming Teacher of the Year program. As stated in the Wyoming Department of Education guidelines, the Wyoming Teacher of the Year must Inspire students of all backgrounds and abilities to learn; Have the respect and admiration of students, parents, and colleagues; Be poised, articulate, and have the energy to withstand a busy schedule as teacher of the year; and Demonstrate high levels of academic achievement for their students. Robin embodies these traits, as well as many, many others that make her a wonderful representative for TCSD. About being selected as the 2015-2016 TCSD Teacher of the Year Miller stated, "My gratitude and ability to be nominated for teacher of the year is a result of Teton County School District #1. I grew up being surrounded by caring teachers and supportive community members of Jackson who encouraged me to follow my dreams of becoming a teacher.
