Gov. Mead, Mayor Flitner to speak at Vertical Harvest opening celebration

(Jackson, Wyo.) - After years of planning and building and months of growing, Vertical Harvest will celebrate its official Opening Day next week. The festivities will commence on Thursday, May 26 at 10.30 a.m. with words from Governor Matt Mead, Jackson Town Mayor Sara Flitner, Vertical Harvest Board Chair Anna Olson and co-founder and CEO Nona Yehia. Speeches will be followed by a Street Fair that celebrates local food, artisanal crafts and amazing people. “Our opening day ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate the huge number of organizations and individuals, both locally, statewide, nationally and internationally that have helped to make this project a reality," said Nona Yehia, Vertical Harvest’s co-founder. "The day will not only celebrate our Town’s newest farm and its incredible employees, but will also showcase local farmers and producers that have made the local food movement in our valley so impactful. “ The first 90 people to arrive to the ceremony will be given the opportunity to sign up to tour the facility. Tours will take place from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. at 30-minute intervals of 15 people each. Organizations such as 1% for the Tetons, Slow Food in the Tetons, and HoleFood Rescue will be present to talk about their missions, local Artists and producers such as Ben Roth and Roots Kitchen will be highlighted as well as the restaurants and businesses that have supported Vertical Harvest’s mission and vision.
