Chris Christian to run for HD 22

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Native Jacksonite Chris Christian has announced that she is running for House District 22 and will kick-off her campaign on June 16 at Tootsie's North in Alpine from 3 - 6 p.m. Christian is running against Wilson resident, Marylee White in the Democratic Primary on August 9. According to a release issued by Christian, she hopes to eventually prevail against the incumbent Marti Halverson for the House Seat in District 22, which comprises parts of Teton, Lincoln and Sublette Counties. "A University of Wyoming graduate and long-time self-employed retiree, Christian focuses her campaign on the Transfer of Public Lands Issue against Halverson's 2016 Yay vote for it. Medicaid and worker's benefits also play a strong part in Christian's platform," said the release. The 66 year-old great grandmother spends most of her time working from home on activist issues across the state and has an avid interest in the future of Wyoming's education and is especially interested in child welfare and women's issues. A delegate to the Wyoming Democratic Convention, Christian supports Bernie Sanders, however states that she'll choose to vote for whomever wins the nomination. "I would not be considered much of a Liberal outside of Wyoming," she said. A Conservative for most of her years, she says that education forced her to change many of her political views and she hopes to have Wyoming become more Progressive in areas that she feels are important to the welfare of the state and all of its' citizens. *Feature Photo: Chris Christian. h/t Chris Christian / Pitchengine Communities* #buckrail #news
