Climb the King kicks off Sunday

(Jackson, Wyo.) - The sun is shining and the trails are drying out, that means it is time for the 11th Annual Climb the King fundraiser benefiting the Jackson Hole Community Counseling Center (JHCCC). Climb the King kicks off this Sunday, June 5 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Phil Baux park at the base of Snow King. Climbers, donors and community members are invited to stop by to register, hike and have free pizza and drinks. Climb the King buffs will be given out to participants, while supplies last. The first 25 participants to donate register will receive a gift card from Persephone Bakery. All participants making donations will get a discounted chairlift pass, courtesy of Snow King. “This fundraiser is pivotal to raising funds for the JHCCC, as well as raising awareness about the services that the JHCCC provides for the community. I am planning on another record breaking year this year and hope to see many people out climbing. Exercise has many wonderful health benefits, so that's just an additional side effect of this fun fundraiser,” said Deidre Ashley, Executive Director for JHCCC. Climb the King is a summer long fundraiser starting Memorial Day weekend and continuing through Labor Day weekend. Donors and climbers can sign up online, visit, then donate online, start climbing and log your climbs. With the Climb the King calculator in every climber account, participants can convert other activities such as swimming, running, yoga classes and more to a climb. #buckrail #news
