Paper Mache Masks, Hats and Creatures invade Colter Elementary

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Music played as nearly 600 kids danced, high-fived and happily showed off their recent artwork at Colter Elementary School. This was for the 6th Annual Paper Mache Parade. Lead by art teacher Heidi Thompson, each grade created a different type of paper mache art piece. "All of the students in the school create a paper mache piece and what I love about it is that there are four parts of the paper mache -- they have to create a 3D form, then they paper mache it, paint it and decorate it," said Thompson. 3rd grade created a paper mache masks, 4th graders made hats and 5th graders made creatures. "I just think that this is just a great way to celebrate the arts as a school," Thompson added. Here are our 6 favorite photos from the parade today: *1.
