Tour de Wish Jackson set for June 18

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Registration is now open for 5k and 38k bike rides to raise funds for Make-A-Wish® Wyoming. Tour de Wish Jackson will take place June 18 beginning at 9 a.m. Both the 5k and 38k rides will begin at the Alpine Rookie Field. This is the second year Make-A-Wish Wyoming has partnered with communities around the state to hold Tour de Wish events. The Tour de Wish series was inspired by the first Wyoming wish granted in 1985 to 10-year-old Brian of Gillette who wished to have a BMX bike. Since 1985, Make-A-Wish Wyoming has granted the wishes of 31 children from the Jackson and Star Valley area. Wishes have ranged from wanting to go to Hawaii and Alaska, meeting violinist Lindsey Stirling, and to have a baby grand piano, service dog, and a “big red boat.” The cost to participate in the 5k is $15 for early registrants or $20 for day-of registration. The 38k is $35 for early-bird registration and $45 that day. Children 10 years of age and younger participate for free. All proceeds benefit Make-A-Wish Wyoming. People may register now at or register the day of the event beginning at 8 a.m. Currently, there are six children with pending wishes from this area of the state. *Feature Photo: h/t Make-A-Wish® Wyoming / Pitchengine Communities* #buckrail #news
