Remains of Yellowstone hot springs victim unrecoverable

(Yellowstone) - A couple hours ago, Yellowstone National Park suspended the search for 23-year-old Colin Nathaniel Scott of Portland, Oregon. This morning, the park confirmed that Scott walked off the designated boardwalk, slipped, and fell into a hot spring at the Norris Geyser Basin Tuesday, June 7 . Today, rangers focused efforts on recovering the body, but were not able to recover any. "The recovery suspended a couple hours ago," said Charissa Reid, Yellowstone National Park spokesperson. "There were no recoverable human remains." Reid said that the reason that there were no recoverable human remains is that the Norris Geyser Basin is a very acidic environment and most pools are above 199 degrees. *Feature photo: File photo of Norris Geyser Basin in Yellowstone via / Pitchengine Communities* #buckrail #reboot #county10 #springcity #dally #shortgo #oilcity #county17 #news
