BREAKING: Sublette County Sheriff Removed from Office

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Last night, a jury in Sublette County found in favor of the plaintiffs that Sublette County Sheriff Stephen Haskell is to be removed from office. In a letter sent to the Sublette County Sheriff's Office this morning, Captain Wes Johnston announced the verdict and explained the process moving forward: "As most of you have probably already heard, the jury found in favor of the plaintiffs and the Sheriff will be removed. As for things going forward, Colonel Farrell will be the acting Sheriff for now until things get sorted out and the Commissioners make a decision as to what direction we will be going. The commission will be meeting at 1300 today to announce Colonel Farrell as the interim Sheriff and officially announce the vacancy to start that process," said Captain Wes Johnston in the letter provided to Buckrail. The letter explained that the Sublette County commission will officially announce the vacancy at 1 p.m. today. Then the Republican County Central Committee will accept applications and interviews prospects. Then they will submit three prospects to the Commission. The Commission chooses from that list and makes the appointment of the new Sheriff to fill out the current term.
