Mosquitoes are coming out! Here's what you can do to reduce mosquitoes in Jackson Hole

(Teton County, Wyo.) - It’s that time of year again where Teton County Weed & Pest District crews are out working hard to protect the public from mosquito-borne disease and nuisance populations. There is a lot the District can do for you, but have you done your part to ensure that services can be provided? With the implementation of the Wyoming Statute 6-3-414 in 2015 related to the collection of resource data on private property, the District must have your permission to provide any services on private property. It is imperative that all landowners visit the website and complete the one-time permission form as soon as possible. Without written permission the District cannot survey or control mosquitoes on your property. On private roads and in subdivisions without community-wide approval, effective treatment is compromised. Please keep in mind that every landowner has the right to decline services in part or in full; the District respects those decisions. What else can you do? “After completing the form, please talk to your neighbors and encourage them to do the same,” stated Erika Edmiston, District Supervisor. “We want to continue providing the level of service the public has come to expect from our program but without the help of private landowners, our hands are tied.” If you would like more information about mosquitoes, and the measures taken to control them, please visit *Feature Photo: h/t Teton County Weed and Pest / Pitchengine Communities* #buckrail #news
