50 artists come to Jackson this weekend to paint en plein air

(Jackson, Wyo.) - The National Museum of Wildlife Art has invited 50 painters and sculptors to the 5th Annual “Plein Air Fest, Etc.,” Saturday, June 18, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Artists will disperse throughout the scenic valley, including the National Museum of Wildlife Art’s Sculpture Trail, to sculpt and paint masterpieces en plein air. Collectors are invited to browse and bid on the fresh artworks which will be sold by silent bid in the afternoon. The bidding begins at 1:30 p.m. This is a family-friendly event that will include live funk and soul music by the Freda Felcher band, and at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Ranger Doug will discuss the “Vintage Park Posters” in the Wapiti Gallery. Attendees are encouraged to ride bikes. There will be a bike valet, and the first 50 riders will get a drink token.
