(Jackson, Wyo.) - People and organizations are offering support and counciling to the friends and family of Kayden Tapia, the 16-year-old that was found dead near Emily's Pond yesterday morning. Early this afternoon, Jackson Youth Hockey posted Tapia's jersey on their Facebook page
with this message, "Jackson Youth Hockey is devastated by the news of
Kayden Tapia's passing. Words cannot express our profound condolences to
Kayden's family, friends, and teammates. Stay strong."
Tapia was a member of the Wyoming Hockey Team that won the National
Championships earlier this year.
This morning, Principal Scott Crisp posted a letter on the Jackson Hole
High School Facebook Page
death and offering counciling for students.
*"Dear JHHS Students and Parents, *
*"See the message below from Dr. Crisp. Counselors are available all day
today at Jackson Hole High School. *
*"It is with sadness that I tell you about a loss to our JHHS school
family. On June 14, we were provided information that Kayden Tapia, a
rising 12th grade student, died.*
*I understand that many of you may have upsetting feelings and questions
about Kayden’s death. School counseling faculty will try to answer any
questions you have and provide support to you starting at 9 a.m.,
Wednesday, June 15 @ JHHS.*
*At times like this, it is okay to have many different feelings, including
sadness, anger, and disbelief. Together, we can talk about whatever you may
be feeling or simply want to talk.*
*We are here to support you.*
The Teton County Sheriff's Office says that there have been developments in
the case, but there is nothing that they are able to release yet. They
expect to release more information either later this afternoon or tomorrow
