World Premiere of Black & White by NYC-based, internationally-renowned Choreographer and Dancers, Manuel Vignoulle and Rena Butler

*“Bold…acrobatic but sinuous partnering…it is undeniably a tour de force piece”- OFFOFFOFF dance* New York City-based Guest Artists Rena Butler of Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company and Manuel Vignoulle of Manuel Vignoulle-M/motions will present the World Premiere of *Black & White* during Contemporary Dance Wyoming's Annual Summer Concert presented by Dancers' Workshop - this evening and tomorrow evening at 8pm in The Center Theater. *Black & White*, choreographed by Manuel Vignoulle and danced with partner Rena Butler, is a strong and tender exploration of harmony in supposed opposites - color, sex, darkness and lightness, femininity and masculinity internally, yin and yang. *"It is about how we find that one blends with the other, and how we are not so white and not so black but a mix between them," Vignoulle shared with the News & Guide.* Rena and Manuel were Guest Artists-in-Residence at Dancers' Workshop in March of 2015 and began work on Black & White while also working with Contemporary Dance Wyoming to generate new material for their Annual Summer Concert last year. *"We believe it is our responsibility to support and present the creation of new and compelling work to our community,"* says Dancers' Workshop Artistic Director Babs Case. Black & White is now complete, after adding final touches while in residency at Dancers' Workshop this week. Manuel and Rena chose to premiere this intoxicating new work at Contemporary Dance Wyoming's Annual Summer Concert. Only after they perform the work tonight and tomorrow night in Jackson Hole, will they premiere Black & White in New York City next weekend. *The continued growth and development of Contemporary Dance Wyoming, since its beginnings in 1999, is a testament to the influence of visiting companies and choreographers on our own resident dancers,"* Case says. In tonight and tomorrow evening's performances, Contemporary Dance Wyoming will present bold, original works that showcase the strength, athleticism and artistry of the ensemble. The pieces include choreography by CDW Artistic Director Babs Case in collaboration with the dancers, CDW Member Kate Kosharek and NYC-based visiting artist Troy Ogilvie in collaboration with the dancers.
