5 free things to do this weekend

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Here are 5 free things to do this weekend: *1. Stargazing at R Park:* Tonight, Wyoming Stargazing is hosting free public stargazing at Rendezvous Park in Wilson. During the stargazing events, they will be using their giant Dobsonian Telescope with a 20" primary mirror to show you planets, stars, nebulae, galaxies, and more! They will also bring several iPads with the Star Walk application installed on them so you can explore the heavens while others are looking through the telescopes. The programs will take place from 9:30 - 11:30 p.m. *2. Plein Air Fest, Etc.:* On Saturday starting at 9 a.m., more than 50 artists will gather at the National Museum of Wildlife Art for the 5th Annual “Plein Air Fest, Etc.” This is a family-friendly event that will include live music and indoor programming at 10:30 and 12:30 p.m. with Ranger Doug who will be on hand to discuss the “Vintage Park Posters/Open Studio” exhibit on display in the Wapiti Gallery June 18 through August 18. Get more information about this event in Buckrail's article, "50 artists come to Jackson this weekend to paint en plein air." *3. Wilson Fire Department - OPEN HOUSE:* On Sunday at 5 p.m., your Wilson Volunteer Fire Department will be holding an open (fire) house at Station 6 on Teton Village Road. This is an opportunity for kids of all ages to meet some of your community volunteers, enjoy some BBQ and beverages while having some hands-on time with our engines, ambulances and apparatus. *4**. Free Tram Rides for Dads:* On Father's Day, fathers are offered free tram access all day at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, and that tram ticket provides free access to the Bridger Gondola, now running all day. To say thank you to all the fathers in Jackson Hole, JHMR is adding one nice cold beverage *on the house* at any of the three restaurants at the top of the gondola with their free tram ticket. In addition to the free tram service for fathers, the Bike Park will be free on Sunday for all kids 17 years and younger as part of Take Kid Mountain Biking Day.
