This Week: Temporary Levee Closures Near Wilson Bridge

This Week: Temporary Levee Closures Near Wilson Bridge

(Teton County, Wyo.) - Some noxious weeds may be pretty, but their effects on the environment are not. To help curb the spread of invasives, workers will be closing parts of the public levees on the west side of the Wilson Bridge for a few days early next week to spray. Beginning on Monday, June 20, a noxious weed contractor working on behalf of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will start spraying on the “Public Levee” south of the Highway 22 Snake River Bridge. The Public Levee work is expected to continue into Tuesday. On Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday, work will continue north of the Pathway Bridge on the “Boat Ramp Levee” near R Park. The Wilson Bridge Boat Ramp itself will not be impacted by this project and will remain open to the public. During the spraying and for 24 hours after, the impacted levee areas will be closed to the public. The Teton County Road and Levee Department will mark the closures with signs and barricades. Your cooperation and patience is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please contact Road & Levee Manger David Gustafson at 307-733-7190. #buckrail #news
