(Jackson, Wyo.) - Yesterday during the Town of Jackson Council workshop, officials discussed using Town funding to help expedite the building of the Redmond Hall affordable apartments. In February, the Jackson Hole Housing Trust revealed plans to build 28 affordable rental homes on Redmond and Hall in Jackson. The building plans include 2 bedroom / 1.5 bathroom homes and 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom homes. The estimated cost of this project is $12 million and the Housing Trust is requesting $3 million from the Town and $3 million from the county. Staff documents state that the project cannot begin until they have at least $6 million secured. In 2013, the Town gave $1.65 million towards this project for the purchase of two of the lots of land. During yesterday's workshop, the Housing Trust and their financial advisors walked the Council through the details of the proposed financing deal and the details of the possible agreement between the Town and the Housing Trust. At the conclusion of the workshop, Council voted to continue the discussion to their next meeting. More information on this issue is available here.
