Library invites all to second Community Visioning Event happening tonight

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Last Saturday, the Teton County Library held the first of three Community Visioning Events to help guide the strategic planning for the organization. The second event is tonight from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Ordway Auditorium. This is for the commencement of the Library's 2016 Strategic Planning Project. According to the library, this participatory process to collect information and prioritize community needs will help create a road map for library planning over the next five to ten years. "We are excited to begin this strategic planning process,” said Teton County Library Director, Valerie Maginnis. “We’re relying on community engagement to get a clear sense of current needs, as well as hopes for the library's future. The plan that comes out of this effort, which should reflect our community’s vision for Teton County Library, will be a powerful tool that will guide decision-making over the next few years." All community members – those who use the library and those who don’t – are invited to be a part of this process. You can take the online community survey at or attend one of the Community Visioning Events, where you can drop in, personally record your comments and visit with library and planning staff. The next Community Visioning Events will be held tonight, Wednesday, June 22 and and Wednesday, June 29, from 5-7 p.m. in the Ordway Auditorium at the Main Library in Jackson.
