5 adventurous ways to cool off in Jackson Hole

(Jackson, Wyo.) - It's been a HOT June in Jackson Hole and temperatures this weekend are again expected to be in the 70s and 80s. While it is great to get out to hike, bike and climb, you may want to plan an activity that includes a cooling off factor. Here are some ideas for fun and adventurous activities that will help you cool off in this heat: *1. Hike Delta Lake: *This 8 mile hike is no joke. The hike will wear you out on the way up, especially on the boulder field directly before you hit the lake, but when you get there you can cool off by dipping your feet in this ice cold picturesque lake. If you are really hot, jump right in! You will head up using the Taggart Lake Trailhead off of Teton Park Road. Here's a map. [image: Inline image 1] *2. Surf the Palisades:* Grab some friends, head south and wakesurf the Palisades near Alpine. If you have a boat, you can rent the gear from a local shop. If not, book a lessen from Teton Surf Co. Teton Surf Co. is a new company that offers hourly, half day and full day trips for those interested in learning how to surf in the Tetons. All of the trips include water and sports drinks; full day trips include snacks and a full lunch; and half day trips includes snacks. You will head out from the Death Canyon Trailhead in Grand Teton National Park. Be warned, the water is sure to be at glacial temps this time of year. Here are the details of the hike. INSTAGRAM *5. Surf Lunch Counter: *It isn't for amateurs, but those looking to get a little bit more adventurous can attempt to surf Lunch Counter on the Snake River. Here are some good instructions for surfing Lunch Counter via Matador Network: "How to surf Lunch Counter on the Snake River." If you attempt this, you should know what you are doing or go with someone who does.
