Local teams get creative to raise money for Relay for Life

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Tonight, 15 teams and nearly 100 people will head to Snow King Ball Field to help raise money and awareness for cancer research through Relay for Life Teton County. Although the main event takes place tonight, many of the teams have been fundraising for months. Within the local teams, people are getting creative on how to fundraise for the cause. The Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole Relay for Life team has spent much of June fundraising for the event. "This is one our of main community service-oriented projects that we do. Four Seasons supports cancer research as a company," said Mary O'Byrne, Learning and Development Manager for the Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole. For their fundraising, the company splits up by department to raise money. For example, the front office had a bake sale, the security department made and sold breakfast burritos, base camp raffled off a large Jackson Hole Mountain Resort 50th Anniversary trail map, human resources sold special Relay for Life Candy Grams, and more. The Four Seasons Resort and Residences has supported Relay for Life Teton County for about 10 years. "We are always really impressed by the diversity of the ideas that people have and it is really a fun thing every year," said O'Byrne. Other teams have done purse fundraisers, bake sales and used other creative ways to raise money for Relay for Life. Relay for Life Teton County is tonight at Snow King Ball Field from 5:30 - 11 p.m. For more information, visit the Relay for Life Teton County website . *Feature Photo: Members of The Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole security team sell burritos to raise money for Relay for Life. h/t The Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole / Pitchengine Communities* #buckrail #news #whatshappening
