(Jackson, Wyo.) - Here are some events happening around the valley today: *The 25th Jackson Hole Writers Conference: *Each year the Jackson Hole Writers Conference welcomes top authors, agents, and editors from across the country for three days of exclusive workshops, discussions, and manuscript critiques. If you've ever wanted to improve your writing, have a book ready to pitch, or just want to learn what it takes to break into publishing, this is the perfect opportunity. *Targhee Hill Climb: Wrun for Wray:* Wrun for Wray is part of the Run to the Summit Series, which includes the Snow King Hill Climb and the Rendezvous Mountain Hill Climb at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. The roughly 3-mile (the final distance is dependent on snow pack in June) uphill run starts at the base of the Dreamcatcher chairlift and climbs 1840′ to the top of Fred’s Mountain. Following the single-track Bannock Trail, the course will feature a water station about 1 mile into the climb and at the finish line. *Alpine Mountain Days: *Alpine Mountain Days is happening this weekend and includes tons of free events including a Pioneer Village, Star Gazing, a free pancake breakfast, activities for kids and families, a chili cook off, a Teton Raptor Center program and much more. Get the full schedule here. *Teton MudPots Summer Sale: *Annual Teton MudPots Summer Sale features works by local artists created in the Art Association Ceramics Studio. 30% of proceeds benefit the Art Association's Ceramics Studio. *Jim Gill Children's Concert:* On Saturday at 11 a.m., Jackson will get a visit by award-winning musician and author Jim Gill. Rather than performing for children and parents, Gill leads them to sing and play together. There is a performance for kids from 11 a.m. - noon and a workshop for parents and educators from 1 - 2:30 p.m. Tickets are free and more details are in Buckrail's article, "Award-winning children’s musician comes to Jackson." *Stagecoach Lobster Fest: *Today, Streetfood at the Stagecoach in Wilson will host one of it's favorite summer parties, Lobster Fest. Usually, these events sell out right away, but they still have 25 lobsters left. They special order fresh Maine lobsters and cook them to order with rosemary potatoes, corn on the cob and lots of butter. It is happening today from 12 - 8 p.m. at the Stagecoach in Wilson. To reserve a lobster, call 307-200-6633. *Teton Tens Rugby Tournament: *This weekend, 17 rugby teams from Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and Colorado will compete Jackson Hole for the 16th annual Teton Tens Tournament. The Teton Tens Rugby Tournament runs from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 25 at the fields near Jackson Hole Middle School. There will also be pick-up games for kids to learn how to play rugby during the day.
