Local Org to Host Screening of Concussion Tonight

(Jackson, Wyo.) - Tonight, Watershed Jackson will present a special showing of the major motion picture, Concussion, starring Will Smith as Dr. Bennet Omalu, a Nigerian forensic pathologist who fights against efforts by the National Football League to suppress his research on chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) brain degeneration. "This screening brings to light the affects of one of our nations most beloved past times and understand the impact CTE has on athletes, their families and friends, in any major impact sport - skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, football, BMX racing and motocross biking," states Watershed Jackson in a release. Prior to the screening the organization will host a discussion panel from local professionals, and athletes on the affects of repeat concussions and brain injuries to athletes. Watershed Jackson is a local non-profit educating the community and supporting athletes who have suffered traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries reach a turning point in the return to the sport they love.
