Watch for construction, maintenance on several county roads this week

(Teton County, Wyo.) - Teton County’s road improvement schedule for the next two weeks will include patching, chip-sealing and fog-sealing various stretches of road throughout the valley. Beginning today, Monday, July 18 and Tuesday, July 19, crews will begin chip-sealing work in the Wilson area, with impacted roads to include Trail Creek, Main, Second, Wenzel, Green, Nethercott, Coyote Loop, Spring Gulch, Moulton Loop, as well as other minor stretches of roadway. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, chip-sealing work continues on Spring Gulch Road and routes farther south, including Adams Canyon, Hi Country, Shooting Iron, Montana, Grand Teton Circle, South Park Ranch, Game Creek and Hoback South areas. Crews may continue working over the July 23rd weekend at the Spring Gulch and Moulton Loop areas. Throughout the following week, Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29, crews are scheduled to circle back to the freshly chip-sealed roads for sweeping, fog-sealing and painting fresh stripes. The chip-seal process is a pavement surface treatment that makes road beds more durable and longer lasting. The process involves placing a new surface layer of aggregate. The new layer is swept and then sealed with a light layer of emulsified oil to help minimize chip loss and to provide a smoother surface for road users. The roadways are then striped for lanes. We appreciate your patience during any inconvenience while Teton County strives to keep our roads well-maintained. If you have any questions regarding these projects or other Teton County road maintenance programs, please call Road and Levee Manager Dave Gustafson at (307) 733-7190. #buckrail #news
