Central Wyoming College is bringing the Medical Assistant Certification Program to Jackson this fall in order to meet the community’s growing demands for healthcare workers. *“This program meets a vital need in our communities for qualified medical assistants and phlebotomists. We provide hands on training and experience in a growing field to meet a critical need. We are excited to be able to provide new opportunities for Jackson,” Kristy Jones Medical Assistant Instructor at CWC said.* [image: Inline image 1] The CWC Medical Assistant Certificate Program is designed to quickly prepare students for a rewarding occupation and an exciting future in healthcare. Medical assistants work as members of a healthcare team under the direction of a physician. Duties include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and more. After successful completion of the program, the student is eligible to test for certification. CWC is proud of the success the program has brought to students thus far. Medical Assistant graduates have a 100% pass rate on their certification examination and all are currently employed in clinics. CWC seeks to bring this level of accomplishment to the Jackson community, providing careers in a viable field. Central Wyoming College is currently accepting applications for the fall semester. Medical Assistant courses are designed to be flexible through a mix of online coursework supplemented with face-to-face intensive weekends. Classes start Monday, August 29.
