Lower Valley making progress

JACKSON HOLE, WYO - An update from Lower Valley Energy was just released to the press.

Lower Valley Energy, along with five outside power companies are working 'round the clock to restore power. (LVE)

Crews have replaced 4 of the 17 downed poles in horrendous conditions. They are working all day and through the night.

UPDATE: Working through the night, LVE says 11 of the 17 poles replaced. They are targeting Monday as finished. JHMR is also shooting for a Monday reopening.

LVE's biggest problem so far is getting the hardware and supplies they need from Denver with road closures. Some 25 expert linemen brought all the equipment they could carry from Salt Lake and Boise. They continue to try to shuttle back and forth for more stuff.

LVE was able to "energize" the Teton Village Fire Department. (We're assuming that means they now have power). Approximately one-third of Solitude is now juiced as well.

Brian Tanabe of LVE asked that we express his company's gratitude to the public and those impacted by the outages. He also wanted to give a shout out to High Plains Power, Idaho Falls Power, Fall River Rural Electric, Bonneville Power, and Wasatch Energy, along with the crews from the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

Anna Cole from JHMR is reporting Hoback Sports in town is open tomorrow starting at 8 a.m. and will be processing ticket refunds for the resort. Customer Service inquiries can be directed to and Best phone number to reach JHMR customer care staff is 307-739-2654.
