Head to Winter Street Gallery to discover a collaborative visual experiment -- in a unique, one-weekend-only exhibit, slated for Friday, Aug. 3 through Sunday, Aug. 5.
Houston artist Emily Dingmann and New York artist Elena Soterakis met at the School of Visual Arts in New York. Each has since developed her own artistic practice, style and following.
They challenged themselves to work together this year, pushing their usual boundaries and reaching new artistic heights.
WHO – Houston-based Emily Dingmann and Brooklyn-based Elena Soterakis collaborate on new works for the exhibit.
WHAT– Observance of Form explores the ritualistic and meditative process behind the creation of form and how it exists within an environment and space. This series is about the passage of time and the convergence of two distinct artistic styles: minimalist abstraction and representational painting.
WHEN– Opening reception 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 3. Exhibit runs through Sunday, Aug. 5.
