“Walk For Knowledge” Fundraising Kickstarts Central College Department of English Language 60th Anniversary Celebrations
HONG KONG, Jun. 25, 2018 — The Department of English Language and Literature in Central College announced today the start of their series of celebration events for their 60th anniversary, beginning with "The Walk For Knowledge" fundraising next month.
“We cannot be happier to celebrate 60 years of deep bonding and heritage of the department with our staff, students and the entire school. We are excited about the celebration events ahead.” said Dr. Michael Dixon, Department Director of English Language and Literature.
To begin with, "The Walk For Knowledge” will be held on July 8. Our Department Director, Dr. Michael Dixon, will lead the walk together with four outstanding alumni from the department. The four honourable guests includes Pulitzer prize winning journalist Sean Walker, New York Times best-selling authors Craig Wendler, Stu Tuckett and Gerry White.
The goal of the walk is to conduct fundraising for future researches of the department, enable our staff and students to execute their academic researches with more resources, so that the department can achieve more outstanding results.“ We look forward to reunite with our alumni on July 8 and do more for the department with the joint effort of our students and staff.” Dixon added.
After fundraising, we will have other celebration events including a series of guest talks held by distinguished alumni. Further details will be announced in mid-July.
