Elevated Fire Danger this weekend; Outdoor Burning Strongly Discouraged

The National Weather Service Forecast office for Central and Western Wyoming said today that high winds and low humidity are expected in Southeast Fremont, Natrona and Johnson counties for the weekend which will elevate fire danger. The NWS discourages outdoor burning as winds Saturday will be from the Southwest at 20 to 30 mph with occasional gusts to 40 mph. On Sunday, Southwest winds are expected from 25 to 35 mph with gusts as high as 55 mph in wind prone areas.
