Lady Rustlers race to big win Friday at Powell Tournament

The Central Wyoming College women's basketball team defeated Eastern Wyoming 64-44 at the First Bank of Wyoming Shootout at Northwest College in Powell today. Two players scored in double digits for Central, Olivia Ellis with 21 and Kyla Paulus with 18. Ellis scored a double-double by also hauling down 10 rebounds. "It was a great team effort," Head Coach Serol Stauffenberg said. The Rustlers free throw shooting was on the mark, too. Paulus went 3 for 3 from the line and Loveeda White, Heather Townsend and Alexis Pickert all were perfect at 2 for 2. "I was pleased with the defensive side," Stauffenberg said. "We held a good team to 44 points and took some charges. We continue to make the hustle-plays." The women's team is now 4-0 on the season and will play Bismarck State College at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trapper Gym. Feature Photo: CWC / Pitchengine Communities #county10
