San Diego State wins, Pokes only manage a Field Goal; MW roundup-UNM tops BSU

*Laramie, Wyo. (Nov. 14, 2015) -- *The Wyoming Cowboys faced the hottest team in the Mountain West Conference on Saturday as the San Diego State Aztecs won their sixth consecutive conference game by a final score of 38-3 over the Cowboys. SDSU improved its record to 6-0 in the MW and 7-3 overall. Wyoming dropped to 1-10, 1-6 in the conference. Wyoming could generate only 191 yards of total offense on the night, while SDSU concluded the game with 431 total yards. The Aztecs were led by two 100-yard rushers in running backs Chase Price and Donnel Pumphrey, who ran for 152 and 140 yards, respectively. UW’s junior wide receiver Jake Maulhardt recorded the second 100-yard receiving game of his career, with 107 yards on five receptions, and sophomore running back Brian Hill ran for 72 yards on the night to lead the Wyoming offense. “San Diego State is a very good football team,” said Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl. “I felt like they wore us down a little bit as the game went on. They are a veteran, physical football team, and their maturity showed tonight. They have a big offensive line, talented running backs and a very aggressive defense. “I’ve known Coach (Rocky) Long for many years, and his team reflects his personality -- they’re tough and they’re disciplined. “I thought our guys continued to fight, but I did see us get worn down tonight.” Wyoming will have its one bye of the season this coming Saturday before hosting the UNLV Rebels in the 2015 season finale on Saturday, Nov. 28. The Wyoming-UNLV game will be televised on ROOT SPORTS and the game will kick off at Noon, M.T.
