Upton/Sundance captures 1A-11Man Title over Tongue River

The Patriots completed an undefeated season this afternoon with a 33-14 victory over the Tongue River Eagles this afternoon in Laramie before 1,500 fans at War Memorial Stadium. Upton/Sundance scored the first four touchdowns of the game for a 26-0 lead in the second quarter before the Eagles were able to mount a scoring drive just before half-time. The Patriots led 26-7 at the break. Tongue River scored first in the second half but that was their final visit to the end zone. Upton/Sundance added another score with under a minute remaining for the final margin. The Patriots controlled the rushing game, rolling up 308 yards on the ground to only 19 yards for the Eagles. The Eagles had 211 yards through the air while U-S had 57. The Patriots ended the game with 365 total yards to Tongue Rivers 230. The final championship game is the Class 4A contest between rivals Campbell County and Sheridan. In Friday's Finals, in Class 2A Wheatland defeated Glenrock 22-8 and in Class 3A Star Valley topped Green River 31-15, Earlier Saturday Kaycee beat Meeteetse for the Class 1A-Six Man Crown. #county10 #dally #county17
