High Wind Watch posted for Central Wyoming, High Wind Warning in the Northwest

The National Weather Service Forecast Office at Riverton Regional Airport has issued a high wind warning for much of Central Wyoming... The NWS reported that "a very strong pressure gradient ahead of a cold front will combine with a very strong jet stream aloft to produce very strong to high winds across a large part of Central and Southwest Wyoming through Wednesday." A high wind watch applies to central Sublette, most of Sweetater, Northern Fremont, most of Big Horn as well as northeast Johnson most of Converse and northeast Platte counties. A high wind warning in in effect for Northwest Fremont, Western Hot Springs and most of Park counties, along with northern Carbon, most of Albany, all of Laramie and southwestern Platte counties. Winds in the watch area are predicted between 30 and 40 mph and winds in the warning area are for 35 to 45 mph winds with gusts up to 100 mph. A winter weather advisory is in effect for Teton County with 5-10 inches of snow expected at the higher elevations and 2-5 inches in the valleys. #county10 #news
