Obituary: Ruth Marie Dewey Carr

Ruth Marie Dewey Carr 77, of Riverton passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Kindred Health Care in Riverton. Ruth was born on April 9, 1938 to Elmer Frank and Cecelia Margaret (Suverkrubee) Dewey in Riverton. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Davis Funeral Home with inurnment of ashes to follow the service at Mountain View Cemetery. Pastor Robin Stupka will officiate her service. In Lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to Trinity Lutheran School in care of Davis Funeral Home. Ruth grew up and attended schools in Riverton spending most of her life living in Riverton except six years when she lived in Thermopolis, Wyoming. She married Jack Edward Carr on June 12, 1956 in Reno, Nevada. She owned the Cedar Bar in Riverton and worked at several businesses in Riverton including Farmers Exchange, The Riverton Creamery, Morning Star Dairy, Storks Auto body, and the Bull Super Club. Ruth was a past member of the Jaycees in Riverton and Thermopolis and participated in a bowling league for 40 years. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, upholstery, sewing and knitting. She is survived by her husband Jack, sons; Darrell (Kate) Carr of Denver, Steve (Connie) Carr, and Brian Carr both of Riverton. Daughter; Dianna Goheen also of Riverton. 5 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Sisters; Dorothy Lee (Kenneth) Myers and Barbara Bartel both of Riverton. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Tracy Carr, and brother Darrell Dewey. #county10 #news #obits
