Local retailers presented with a piece of the fallen World Trade Center Towers

Mike and Heather Becker and their employees at Gale’s Carpet One in Riverton were honored Thursday afternoon by the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation and presented with a piece of the downed World Trade Center Towers. [image: Inline image 1] The Carpet One stores throughout the country, in association with Mohawk Carpets, have supported the foundation’s work of building smart homes for U.S. Service members who return from the battlefield with catastrophic injuries. Lt. Ralph Tufano of the FDNY came to town to make the presentation before a large gathering of fire department, law enforcement, emergency medical services personnel and friends and family at the Becker’s store. Tufano earlier had said that the Becker’s had, and still do, encourage their customers to contribute to the effort.
