My next meetings is in January with the WSBA Directors then a trip to Washington DC for our annual leadership meeting.” Manning said the Wyoming convention was well attended and noted the association’s influence in the state legislature. “We are a factor in education and it is growing. I appreciate your support.” Board Chairman Dean Peranteaux said Manning would represent the state well. He also noted that school board members accrue points for their attendance and participation at conferences and workshops sponsored by the WSBA . Peranteaux noted that the District 25 Board had accumulated enough individual points to earn the district the “Standard of Excellence” Award. That occurs when the majority of the current board has attained 25 points. “It’s recognition for our board member’s dedication to educational growth,” he said. Peranteaux noted that in Manning’s career on the board, he had accumulated the second most points of any school board member in the state, with 1,456 points. Board member Glenn Ogg noted that the most points a board member could accrue in a term is about 300 points, and he and the other board members congratulated Manning for his long service to education.
